Our surveying team utilizes Trimble GPS technology, and we are a founding member of the Texas RTK Cooperative Network and one of the co-op network base station owners.

For over forty five years we have performed engineering design for numerous municipal projects. These projects have included water distribution and wastewater collection systems, sanitary lift stations, street planning and design, road rehabilitation, bridges, park and marina plans, water and wastewater treatment plant design, elevated water storage towers, water wells, city buildings, storm water drainage design and environmental permitting. Our clients include the cities of Baytown, Houston, Mont Belvieu, La Porte, Shoreacres, Pasadena, Morgan’s Point, Seabrook, Deer Park, and Harris, Chambers and Liberty Counties.

Hutchison & Associates uses GIS and aerial photography technology for preliminary analysis and mapping for estimates and presentations. GIS saves our clients’ time and money by eliminating extensive research and drafting. GIS gives the client a general idea of the property layout including boundary and location of underground pipelines.

Drainage and flood protection are a major concern in all land development projects. Hutchison & Associates creates engineering designs for all aspects of storm water runoff including storm sewer systems, open channels, detention ponds with both gravity and pumped outfalls. HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS studies, flood plain mitigation, flood protection systems including levee design, flood walls and flood gates, SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) and SWQMP (Storm Water Quality Management Plan) designs.

The designs have included potable water systems for both groundwater and surface water treatment and wastewater treatment plant designs from small package plants to large municipal treatment facilities.

Hutchison & Associates has served as the district engineer for several municipal utility districts near Baytown, Texas. In this capacity, our firm has overseen the development of over 800 acres of residential property yielding nearly 2,000 home sites.

Additionally, we have designed numerous private subdivisions in Baytown and its surrounding cities. Our civil designs have included land planning, paving and drainage, detention ponds, utility design, sanitary lift stations and wastewater treatment plants. In all of these projects we have furnished services from the original boundary surveys through layouts, design and drafting, advertising, bidding, construction administration and close outs with the governing entities.
